Psychotherapy in an Equine Environment is a fully unmounted (on the ground) approach that invites clients to slow down, attend to the present moment, observe, and learn about their embodied experience in connection with myself, our equine partners and in the environment. Sessions may include observation, sharing space in the paddock and pastures with equines, as well as opportunities to touch and interact with equines. Sessions take place outside in the paddock, pasture or barn.
Clients are encouraged to wear layered, weather appropriate clothing and closed toed, sturdy footwear. Sessions run throughout the year but may need to be re-scheduled in the Winter if the temperature drops low enough to be uncomfortable for humans or animals. Clients may leave with animal hair on their clothing as well as a barn smell.
While I do not accept any insurance, I strive to provide services that are accessible. For individual psychotherapy sessions, I offer a sliding scale fee for clients in need, to be determined prior to starting therapy. I am not currently able to provide a sliding scale for services provided in an equine environment.
